This Privacy Policy explains how Atlas & Isla Rentals ("Atlas & Isla Rentals," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit atlasislarentals.com (the "Site"), contact us, or book event, picnic, or proposal setup rentals. We are a small business based in Tampa, Florida, serving customers in Florida. By using the Site or providing us your information, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information to us.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
When you contact us, request a quote, or book a rental, we collect the information you choose to give us, which typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and details about your event or booking (such as event type, event date, location preferences, guest count, and special requests). We collect this through forms on our Site (powered by WPForms), by email, by phone, and by text message.
Payment Information
We accept card payments through Stripe. Payment card details are entered into and processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or other complete payment card data on our systems. Stripe processes your payment information as our payment processor and under its own privacy terms. We may receive limited confirmation details such as the last four digits of the card, the card brand, and whether a payment succeeded.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our analytics and advertising providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and general usage activity, using cookies and similar technologies. See Section 7 (Cookies & Tracking) for details and your choices.
2. Notice at Collection — Categories of Personal Information
For transparency, and to the extent categories under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act apply, the categories of personal information we may collect are:
- Identifiers — name, email address, phone number, IP address. Sources: you; automatic collection. Purposes: to respond to inquiries, provide and fulfill bookings, and communicate with you. Disclosed to: hosting, form, email, analytics, and advertising providers.
- Commercial / booking information — event and booking details, event dates, services requested, and transaction records. Sources: you. Purposes: to prepare quotes, fulfill rentals, and keep records. Disclosed to: payment processor and hosting provider.
- Payment-related information — limited confirmation details only (we do not store full card data). Sources: Stripe. Purposes: to process and confirm payments. Disclosed to: Stripe.
- Internet / device activity — usage data, cookie identifiers, and analytics data. Sources: automatic collection. Purposes: to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Site, and for advertising. Disclosed to: analytics and advertising providers.
We do not intentionally collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or other "sensitive personal information," and we do not knowingly collect information from children (see Section 12).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes and information you request.
- To arrange, confirm, fulfill, and manage your event, picnic, or proposal setup rental.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To communicate with you about your booking by email, phone, and text message, including confirmations, scheduling, updates, and follow-up.
- To send marketing or promotional messages where you have agreed to receive them (you can opt out at any time).
- To operate, maintain, secure, measure, and improve our Site and services.
- To keep business records and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA / UK Visitors)
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the rental you request); legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve our business and communicate with you, balanced against your rights); consent (for marketing communications and certain cookies, which you may withdraw at any time); and legal obligation (to meet recordkeeping and legal requirements).
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only as described below:
- Payment processing — Stripe, to process card payments.
- Website hosting — Hostinger, which hosts the Site and stores its data.
- Forms — WPForms, which powers our contact and booking forms.
- Email delivery — WP Mail SMTP, to send and deliver our emails.
- Analytics — Google Analytics / Google Site Kit, to understand Site usage.
- Advertising — Meta Pixel, to measure and support our advertising.
- Professional advisors — accountants, lawyers, or similar advisors, where reasonably needed.
- Legal and safety — where we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
No sale of personal information for money. We do not exchange your personal information for money. Please note that some state privacy laws define a "sale" or "sharing" broadly to include the use of certain analytics and advertising cookies (such as Meta Pixel or Google advertising cookies), even when no money changes hands. To the extent those laws apply, you can opt out of that activity as described in Section 7, including by using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal.
6. Text Messaging (SMS) Consent & Opt-Out
We communicate with customers by text message (SMS). By providing your mobile phone number to us—through a form, by email, in person, or by text—you agree that we may contact you by text about your inquiry, quote, booking, scheduling, payment, and related customer service, and, where you have opted in, occasional promotional messages.
- Message types: booking confirmations and updates, scheduling and logistics, payment reminders and receipts, customer-service replies, and (with your consent) promotions.
- Message frequency varies based on your booking and interactions with us.
- Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier and plan.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You do not have to agree to marketing texts in order to book with us.
- Opt-out: You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you reply STOP, we may send one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will stop sending non-essential texts. You may also ask us to stop by email or phone.
- Help: Reply HELP for help, or contact us at contact@atlasislarentals.com.
- Opting out of texts may affect our ability to communicate with you quickly about a booking; we may then reach you by email or phone instead.
We do not share mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and support advertising. These include:
- Google Analytics / Site Kit — to understand how visitors use the Site.
- Meta Pixel — to measure and support our advertising on Meta platforms.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of many advertising cookies through your browser or device controls and through industry opt-out tools.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). Where required by applicable law, we recognize and honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal as a request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as such an opt-out for that browser or device.
"Do Not Track." Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no common industry or legal standard for interpreting DNT signals, and DNT is not a legally enforceable opt-out mechanism. Because of this lack of a standard, our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honor the GPC signal described above where applicable.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy—to provide and manage your booking, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations—after which we delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the reason we hold it.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information. Atlas & Isla Rentals is a small business and generally falls below the thresholds that make these state privacy laws mandatory for us. Nonetheless, as a courtesy and to the extent these rights apply to you, we will honor the requests described below. To exercise any right, contact us at contact@atlasislarentals.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
9.1 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, you may have the right to: know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected; know the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients; request deletion; request correction of inaccurate information; and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (see Section 5 and the GPC information in Section 7). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
No financial incentives. We do not offer financial incentives or price or service differences in exchange for the collection, sale, or retention of your personal information.
9.2 Florida Residents (Florida Digital Bill of Rights)
The Florida Digital Bill of Rights applies only to certain large businesses (generally those with more than one billion dollars in global gross annual revenue), and it does not impose obligations on our small business. As a courtesy, and to the extent applicable, Florida residents may contact us to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to opt out of targeted advertising or any "sale" of personal information.
9.3 EEA / UK Residents (GDPR)
To the extent the EU or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information; the right to data portability; and the right to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9.4 Right to Appeal
If we decline to act on a privacy request you have submitted, you may appeal that decision by replying to our response or by contacting us at contact@atlasislarentals.com with the word "Appeal" and the details of your request. We will review the appeal and respond within a reasonable time, informing you of our decision and the reasons for it. Where required by applicable law, we will also tell you how to contact the relevant state Attorney General or supervisory authority if you remain unsatisfied.
9.5 Marketing and Communication Choices
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. You can opt out of marketing text messages by replying STOP (see Section 6). Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you non-promotional messages about your active or pending booking.
10. Data Security & Breach Notification
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, and we work with reputable providers (such as Stripe for payments and Hostinger for hosting) that maintain their own security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security. You provide information to us at your own risk.
If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will investigate and notify affected individuals and applicable authorities as and when required by applicable law, including Florida’s data breach notification requirements.
11. As-Is Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atlas & Isla Rentals and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, your provision of information to us, or this Policy, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in this Policy limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our Site and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. Third-Party Links
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Stripe, Google, or Meta). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them any information.
14. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process and store information in the United States and elsewhere. If you access the Site or provide information to us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
15. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Policy and any dispute arising out of or relating to it or the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that the exclusive venue for any such dispute will be the state or federal courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above, and material changes will take effect when posted on this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Policy.
17. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Policy or wish to exercise any of your rights, contact us at contact@atlasislarentals.com.
